Cherry Blossom

The Cherry Blossom design came about because I enjoy drawing and painting.

I love trees. I find I loose my self in the pattern by allowing my self to explore the branches.

When I finish painting the tree and blossoms. I hand paint wax resist over the cherry blossom pattern, allowing the wax to dry before I dip the piece in the final glaze.

The end result is always a surprise to me a battle between glaze and wax resist.

The outcome can be a rich texture of glaze pooling in areas and creating its own pattern.

My gallery is a catalog of pottery I have made in the past and some pieces I continue to make. I like to share photos of my work in process too. If you see something here that is not currently available in my shop. Contact me and we can see if I can make an item similar to it.
